In this tough economic climate, securing funding for two additional projects, a Group Home for Men and “Father Jim’s Place for Living and Learning”, housing a social hall and six classrooms, has truly been a challenge. Funding for our organization comes from private donations, corporate sponsors, foundation grants and special events. Recent events have included Schott Communities First Annual Pro Am Tennis Tournament at the Weston Hills Country Club, A Tribute To Pavarotti at the Broward County Performing Arts Center and “Just One Big Party”, a unique get together with over 200 attendees at St. Marks Hall right here in Cooper City.
Our Annual Walk-A-Thon at Markham Park was transformed to a 5K Run and Walk! Traditionally held in May, we moved the event to October 24, 2009. Added to the event was a sanctioned 5K run under the auspices of Split Second Timing. Additional events are in the planning process and should appeal to a wide variety of participants. We hope to see you at any of our future events and know that you will enjoy the festivities while assisting us in our fund raising efforts.
This is truly a community effort and we invite you to be a part! To request information about our programs and services, inquire about volunteer opportunities or seek additional information about the various ways to financially support our mission, please call Schott Center at 954-434-3306, and depending upon your interests, we will direct you to the appropriate staff member.
