Schott Communities is a private, not-for-profit, United Way participating
agency, founded to address the needs of persons who are deaf or disabled in South Florida. The agency is an extension of the ministry of the Archdiocese of Miami for persons who are deaf or disabled.
The Schott Center provides social and educational programs to more than 225 persons who are deaf or disabled living in the local communities as well as in Schott residences. In addition to its scheduled programs and services, the Center networks and collaborates with numerous civic and community organizations also serving this population. Public advocacy on behalf of this special-needs population is an important component of the organization's mission. The Center's outreach program provides food and equipment to homebound persons who are deaf or disabled.
